WHY CODE?

JANUARY 8th, 2022

Why code you ask? Well, it all begins with an idea and coding helps to make those ideas come to life.

Coding and creating is something the entire Casado family enjoys. From the parents to the kids, but it was the passion of Mr. Chaos Taco who took the love to a whole new level.

Over the last 4 years starting at just 8 years old, Mr. Chaos Tacos has read countless books, watched endless YouTube videos, taken classes, created, edited, released, edited some more and re-released a couple dozen games. All using code, and coding based platforms and practices.

Playing with friends, playing friends games, and collaborating on builds and projects has been his absolute favorite and now it’s time to deepen the enthusiasm he (and the entire family have) to create a space where children all over the world can come together to build, share and play while inspiring each other to create a future full of brilliant, passionate and diverse coders (of course this is the dream of his mom who is a Digital Marketing junkie)

What is Coding?

If you’re like most people outside of the technology industry or a kid (we really hope you’re a kid or a parent helping a kid, because this space is for kids of course) then you’re probably asking yourself what is coding?

Coding is a term for computer programing. It is how you give a computer instruction. There are different programming languages (which we will explore here on Casa Coders) and programmers use one or more languages depending on the program. In addition to coding languages used for text-based coding, there is also visual blocks platforms which is the best way for kids to learn the concept of coding. A personal favorite of Mr. Chaos Taco is Scratch, however we will also explore Blockly here on Casa Coders.

What Do I Need to Code?

You may be now wondering what you need to code. Coding can be done the most traditional way on a computer, however you can code using an ipad, and even an iphone.

However for some of the fun being had on Casa Coders like Minecraft Meetups an Xbox (or Playstation) console can be used.

How Can I (or my child if I’m a grown up) Get Involved?

To join the Minecraft Meetup RSVP here- your first meetup is free, after you can choose from 1- one session at $5 per session or purchase 4 sessions for $10 or a monthly unlimited for $15, there is always at least one meetup per week (all of which begin the February 2022).
